There I was, on the ah looking for the plans for mithrill spurs to power level my Blacksmith when all of a sudden I come across Plans: Dark Iron Pulverizer.
I think "man that's one badass hammer, I would be invincible in battle grounds on my warrior If I had one of those" and that's all it took for me to go on a 3 hour long journey to obtain said hammer.
The mats for the hammer are 18 dark iron bars and 4 heart of fires, which is really easy to obtain. Or so I thought.
The heart of fires was easy but the dark iron is a real pain. turns out it takes 8 dark iron ores to make one dark iron bar. So I go on the Auction House and buy all the dark iron I can find. I needed 144 dark iron ores to make one hammer, and after buying all the ore off the ah I had about 70. No there is no way in hell I'm gonna go farm this stuff so I ask in trade "WTB dark iron ore/bar" and I get one reply from someone who just happened to have a large stash of the stuff and was willing to sell for less than what I paid for the Auction house ores. So now I have exactly 288 dark iron bars and I've spent about 400g.
Now to smelt the things.
My miner is my dk who was level 72 at the time. So I look online to find out how to smelt the stuff and you have to do this quest in BRD to learn how to do it, and you can only smelt it in BRD at the very end of the instance. All I can say is good thing that my miner was also my blacksmith so I didn't have to do the stupid quest for the key (which you don't need anymore since the shattering) because I have all those skeleton keys. After another hour and a half of running through BRD I finally had the dark iron bars for my hammer (I had enough for 2 of them actually to sell one in the ah and one for my warrior, which I completely forgot about until I wrote this and is the first thing I'm gonna do after I post this). Then I realized you can only make the hammer in BRD. Imagine my face when I found out about this after I had already hearth to dal.
So back to BRD to make the hammer's. After another half hour of flying and running though that awful place I finally had my super awesome OP hammer of awesomesause. I send one to my warrior and promptly que up for a battle ground to rock some faces.
After one battle ground with the hammer I got bored of it and I haven't used it since.
Now whats the point of my adventure with a stupid hammer that never procs?
That when I get an idea, no matter how stupid, I go all out on it.
No but really it's that people will be willing to pay a lot for something like this just because it looks cool, and it's a pain to obtain. Kind of like how some people run scarlet monastery just to get Ravager because it gives a Bladestorm effect.( and yes I do have it for that very reason)

Total Revenue: 20986g
Expenditures: 26533g
Net-loss: 5546g
Total: 99664g
Well it looks like I'm 5k in the hole. But since I've recorded my data I've already made the 5k so I'm back at 100k.
I can't wait for cata to come out already so I can start selling stuff besides glyphs, pets, and boa scrolls. Oh and I can't believe they already switch the ink trader to the cata ink. I never made the glyphs I was gonna stock pile because it takes so long to do that I just kept on putting it off. And it looks like I put it off just a little too long. Good thing there are a lot of glyphs that require ink of the sea's. Now all I gotta do is level up my dk to mine in cata because he was my only profession mule who wasn't 80, and I gotta say I really hate melee classes. I've got an 80 rogue who is ok because he can stealth but I can only play my dk or warrior so long before I have to call it quits and go back to my hunter. Hunters are just awesome, I think I should do a post about just how awesome they are >:D
Well I think I will end my rant now, I mean this is just a data report.

Vendor Bags
Until Cataclysm Comes out I have cut down my on what I sell by about 75%, so I'm not making as much as I'm use to. So I started experimenting with stuff to see If there are some ways to make some extra gold. Well I found a way to make some extra gold regularly. Vendor bags sold by the innkeeper at hellfire peninsula, wich are 20-slot bags for professions. They sell for about 14 gold from the vendor and I have been able to sell them for 40 gold on the AH, for about 4 times the price I paid for them. I post them for 40g because on my server frostweave bags, the 20-slot normal bags, sell for about 45g on average on my server. So I sell the 20-slot profession bags for a little bit cheaper than they can buy an all purpose bag. I didn't think they would sell since they could spend a little bit more for a way more useful bag. But they did and I didn't have to sell my bags for less.

Weekly data report
Well I have an add-on that keeps track of my earnings and spending in all aspects that it's possible to make gold. And I keep on forgetting to check after the one week mark, or even the end of the day. But I can make a pretty good guess as to how much I have made based on how much I have, and how much I bought. So at the beginning of the week I had 107k gold, and now I have 102k gold, which is pretty good considering what I have been doing with my money. I lent 2k to a friend for gems, and spent about 6k on herbs to stock pile for the cata launch, which I think will create a huge temp. demand of glyphs. (I took a screen shot of the inks after I milled the herbs I'll put it at the end of the post.) and I would say I spent another 5k on boa enchanting mats. And I bought my priest and druid the regular ice mammoth's for about 1600 combined. So I think i did pretty good considering I'm only selling about 20% of what I usually sell (I stopped selling gems, and all non boa scrolls). So that's 5000+6000+2000+1600=14600. so I made about 9600 selling a limited supply of glyphs, blue gems, boa scrolls, and other stuff. I should really start to cut back on my useless spending If I want to hit gold capped :) (I mean do you really need 5 toons with epic flying and 310% flying? apparently I did)

King Slayer
After a couple of months of raiding I finally got my king slayer title, a couple of weeks before cata. While I was leveling one of my alts my friend sends me a message asking If I will come heal for a sindy kill. I said why not, the servers reset tomorrow. So I hop over and bring my priest to the sindy fight and ended up going shadow because we were going for a zerg kill and I was the only healer with a dps off spec, well a good dps off spec (I was #2 in dps in the fight right after the mage). Then I went back to heals on my priest. We had a lot of wipes on lk, and one of the druids in the group said he would hop over on his holy pally because one of the tanks kept on dieing during the valk stage of the fight. And I went shadow because once again, I was the only healer with a dps off sec. And we got the kill that attempt. :)
(I wish I had got it on my hunter though :( )

Making Gold With Vendor Pets
How do you make gold with vendor pets? well you go to the vendors who sell them and take them to the AH and sell them for more than you paid for them at the vendor."But if you can buy them from a vendor why would anyone buy one off the Auction House?" you might ask. Well it's pretty simple.
I bought one Red Moth Egg for 10g and sold it on the AH for 225g, that's a 215g profit. Why would someone buy a 10g vendor pet for way more than they can just go out and buy one for themselves?
1.) convenience
2.) they don't know any better.
You can make a lot of gold from people who just don't know any better. My little brother was playing his druid one day and decided to go after the 15 pet achieve, so he went on the AH and spent 5k on companion pets. When he showed me which ones he bought 50% of them were vendor pets that he could have gotten for way less than he spent. And people do stuff like this all the time.
Here are some of the vendor pets I sell.
Albino Snake
Obsidian Hatchling
Calico Cat
Red Moth Egg
Brown Rabbit Crate
Blue Dragonhawk Hatchling
Cat Carrier (Siamese)
Mana Wyrmling
Parrot Cage (Senegal)
Brown Prairie Dog

Preparing for cata
Well I was gonna write a guide on the various different professions and how to make gold without playing the ah, but since cata is coming pretty soon the info would only be valid for the next couple of weeks, or partially valid. So instead I'll wait for cata and document my progress. All I'm doing now is stockpiling things I think will be profitable when cata drops and for a few weeks after. And of course I'm trying to sell all my epic gems I have left, and I'm almost out :), to be honest I didn't think I would be able to get rid of my epic gem stockpile but it seems people still raid all the way up to the next expansion.
things to stockpile,
GLYPHS
Not inks, but glyphs themselves. In cata they are changing they ink you use to convert into the other inks, so no stockpiling banks full of inks of the sea. I also have a bunch of netherweave bags that I plan to sell for about 4 times the price they go now for all those new goblins being made. And lastly all my boa enchants, for the same reason, for all the new goblins being made.

The secrect to making gold with Jewel Crafting
Ok I'm gonna let you in on the big secret on how to make gold with Jewel Crafting, in a couple of easy steps.
1.)First off you have to level your Jewel Crafting all the way up to max level. Now it's 450, in two weeks it will be a little higher.
2.)Buy raw uncut gems off the AH and cut them into a gem with stats and post it on the AH for 25% more than you paid for the raw gem.
3.) Profit
If you didn't get the joke, I was trying to convey in 3 easy steps how ridiculously easy it is to make gold with JC. It's like printing money honestly, just super easy to maintain, cut, and post. Just go on the AH, buy a cardinal ruby for 90g, cut in into a delicate cardinal ruby, and post on the ah for 150 gold, and have it sale in a couple of hours and repeat. Of coarse if you like to do bg's just buy your gems with honor for more profit (just don't do bg's for the sole purpose of farming honor to buy gems because that's just like farming and you can make more gold farming other stuff, not that I ever farm anything.)
Also don't forget those blue gems. Just because they don't sell for as much as the epic gems, doesn't mean you can't make a decent profit from them. Which blue gems should you make? you might ask. Simple answer. witch ever ones sale for more than it cost to make. Anyone who is a serious AH player will tell you that most of our gold comes from people who just don't know any better. Gems you know are not good will still sell because not everyone knows that.

First 100k gold reached
I reached 100k gold for the first time after 2 months of playing the AH. My goal is to become gold capped and It might take a little longer than another 2 months for a few reasons.
1.) I made about 30k of the gold in one day during the great 4.0 "glyph rush".
2.) Cata is coming out in about 2 weeks and My once profitable sales will go down and I will have to adjust to the new market.
3.) they are raising the gold cap to like 1 million, witch will take a little longer to reach >.>

Engineering= Awesome gold making
This is my first blog post and I plan on updating this daily or when ever I get the chance with helpful tips and even some tricks on how to make more gold than you already have (obviously). Well to get started I'm going to start off with my all time favorite profession in wow Engineering.
Now despite the title, Engineering is not all that great for making gold. But it is really fun to run super fast off the side of buildings and parachuting over miles safely to the ground,(that is of course you don't open your parachute to early and die). It can make you some viable gold.
First off is Adamantite Frame. Adamantite Frame's are used in some quest and as mats for a couple of engineering items. For some reason, even though all engineer's can make it and pretty easily, it sells for way more than it cost to make. On my server I sell them for about 130g each and sell quiet a few of them on a regular basis.
Scopes, oddly enough, are my second big seller's. Sun Scope, and Heartseeker Scope, with Heartseeker's selling more frequently than the Sun Scopes. People are getting new weapons everyday and these sell to hunters mainly, and sometimes warriors who want a pretty scope on there weapon.
Lastly, we have the many pets engineers can make. Mainly Mechanical Squirrel Box, Lil' Smoky, Pet Bombling ,and Tranquil Mechanical Yeti . And if your lucky Lifelike Mechanical Toad . The lil' smoky, pet bombling and yeti sell the best and you can just ignore the squirrel if you wan to save time since it's pretty easy to make and obtain.
And that's all there really is to making gold with engineering. I got into playing the AH by selling Iceblade arrows, but ammo is gone now (thank god lol) .
